Wow. What an interesting stretch of life.
New life; now back home in Oklahoma - after a three year extended vacation to the PNW.
So much has changed.
What has not changed: my deep and abiding faith in the Church and Jesus Christ. Yes, I've lost much. But I haven't lost Him, despite my every effort.
Last I recorded my thoughts here, we were on our 13 week - turned 3 year hiatus to Seattle. I loved that town so much. Made great friends, saw indescribably beautiful landscape and seascapes. Spent so much time on the sea, and in the mountains, and seeing the sublimely beautiful works of the Creator.
Then Bren looked at me one day about a year ago (Spring 2020) and said "I think we need to leave." "Do you want to go home?" I asked. "Yes" came the tearful answer. "Then let's go." I replied.
We arrived back in Tulsa 6 days before CHOP / CHAZ happened - just up the hill from our Seattle pied-a-terre on Lake Union.
I'm glad we're home. I missed Oklahoma. Not just because of the violence and trash, heroin addicts and leftist politics of Seattle - though those things were certainly easy to say goodbye to.
During this winter, I *did* miss the evergreen grass and palm trees of life at sea level. But I'm glad to be home again.
